Suaramuslim.net – It is reported that Imran bin Hathan had an ugly face, but he had a very beautiful wife. One day his wife looked at her husband and said, "Thank God." Imran was curious and asked, "Why do you praise Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala ?" The wife answered, "Kanda and I will one day be in heaven." Imran became increasingly curious, "Why?" The wife answered, "Because you have been given the sustenance of a wife like me, so you are grateful for it and I have been given the sustenance of a husband like you, so I am patient. Aren't people who are grateful and patient both in heaven..."
This story is one of the interesting stories contained in the book ' Husband and Wife with Heavenly Character ' by Sheikh Muhammad Mutawalli Asy-Syarawi. It is a beauty if we can be grateful and patient with our partner. Be grateful for all the advantages and be patient with all the shortcomings, because that is human and because that is who we are.
Our partner is clothing that covers our shortcomings and beautifies our strengths, and vice versa. So the good and bad of our partner is good and bad for us too. Because clothes reflect ourselves and our souls. The good must be grateful for, the bad is a reflection of us that must be corrected. This is implied from the following verse,
“ It is permissible for you to mix with your wives on the night of the fasting month; they are clothes for you, and you are clothes for them . ” (QS Al Baqarah: 187)
