(Hima AK News) Saturday, March 15, 2025 - The atmosphere full of warmth and joy enveloped the Himmatun Ayat Foundation, Wonorejo, Surabaya, when dozens of volunteers from the Accounting Student Association of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB Unair) carried out a 1.0 Social Action. This activity is a tangible manifestation of students' concern for the community, especially children with the foundation, by presenting various educational and recreational activities that aim to increase the joy, creativity, and confidence of children.
Build children's interactions and creativity
The event began at 16.00 WIB with an introductory session between volunteers and the foundation's children. The atmosphere immediately melted when the participants interact, share stories, and build togetherness. To increase enthusiasm and cohesiveness, the participants were invited to make shared yells, creating positive energy that enlivened the atmosphere.
Activities continue with various educational games that aim to practice social skills and build children's confidence. One of the most interesting sessions is painting on a key chain, where children are free to express their creativity through colors and images. This activity not only provides pleasure, but also helps develop their imagination and fine motor skills.
The momentum of togetherness in breaking the fast and reflection of human values
Towards the evening time, all participants gathered to break the fast together, enjoy a simple dish in an atmosphere full of togetherness. After that, the activity continued with the evening prayer in congregation, giving a moment of spiritual reflection that strengthened the values of togetherness, care, and gratitude between volunteers and foundation children.
Instilling the value of caring and character strengthening
This activity has a positive impact not only for the children of the foundation, but also for students involved. For fostered children, this activity helps increase self-confidence, broaden insight, and instill the values of cooperation and empathy through direct interaction with volunteers. In addition, creativity sessions such as painting key chains provide space for children to express and explore their potential.
Meanwhile, for students, social action 1.0 becomes a valuable experience in honing social care, communication skills, and leadership spirit. Interacting with children from different backgrounds opens a new perspective on the importance of real contributions in society. This program also instills the value of social responsibility among students, which is expected to be a provision in their career and lives going forward.
When the time showed 19.00 WIB, the event reached the end. Before separating, the committee gave special gifts to children as a form of appreciation and affection. A happy smile that emanated from their faces was proof that this activity succeeded in bringing happiness while leaving a deep impression.
Through Social Action 1.0, the FEB UNAIR Accounting Student Association hopes that this program can be the beginning of various other social activities that have more impact.
