Aqualine Festival (ALFA) is a series of activities to celebrate the 13th Anniversary of the Fisheries Student Association (HIMAPIKA) of the University of Mataram. One of ALFA's series of events is the National Essay Competition for all students throughout Indonesia. 2019 is the second year for HIMAPIKA UNRAM to hold the ALFA event and national level Essay Contest. The ALFA Essay Competition aims to be a forum for Indonesian students to be able to convey innovative and creative ideas or ideas which are outlined in a work and are useful in order to improve the welfare of Indonesian people in the field of fisheries and maritime affairs as well as increasing the nation's ability to face global competition through the potential of existing local water resources. .
Register for the ALFA essay competition by submitting an essay from each participant. Participants who are declared to have passed the top 15 will be invited to carry out the presentation stage which will be held on 25-27 October 2019 at Mataram University, Lombok. The top 15 finalist participants came from Riau University, Universitas Airlangga , Gajah Mada University, Haluoleo University, Brawijaya University, Mataram University, Padjadjaran University, Ganesha Education University, Sebelas Maret University, Padang State University, Bogor Agricultural Institute, Surabaya State University, University of Hasanuddin.
The agenda for the presentation of the top 15 finalists is on October 26 2019. Each finalist is given 10 minutes of presentation and 10 minutes of questions and answers from the jury. After the presentation, the next agenda in the evening was the awarding of the winners of the 2019 ALFA essay competition. 1st place was won by Brawijaya University, 2nd place was won by Mataram University, 3rd place was won by Sebelas Maret University, 1st place was won by the Universitas Airlangga Team with the name members Widyastuti Nur Al Amin (Development Economics 2018) and Reza Silvia (D3 Secretarial and Office Management 2017), 2nd runner up was won by Haluoleo University. The 2019 ALFA agenda ended on October 27 2019 with a field trip activity which was attended by all the top 15 finalists at Gili Trawangan Beach, Lombok.
