In this day and age, women have the freedom to carry out various activities they want, unlike in the past where women were shackled and limited in their rights so they could not do anything. Even in Islam, women have an important role in civilization. Therefore, it is not enough for women to just learn to be intelligent and understand Islamic law, but they must also be able to implement their knowledge in everyday life and become productive Muslim women.
In order to instill an understanding of the importance of being a productive Muslim woman, on Sunday (2/9/2018) the Muslim Affairs Division of MOSAIC (Moslem Student Association of Economic & Business Faculty) held a study activity. Located in the Akhwat Hall of the Nuruzzaman Mosque Universitas Airlangga , this event was held under the name KARIMAH AKBAR 2018 with the theme "Productive Muslim Women Embark on the Journey of Mother Khadijah". This study activity is routinely held once a year with participants specifically for Muslim women.
MOSAIC itself is an organization located at the Faculty of Economics and Business, therefore "productive" in this study is emphasized more in terms of doing business. In line with this, the KARIMAH AKBAR event invited two speakers who were quite experienced in their fields, namely Dr. Dyah Sania Artiwi is a doctor and president director of a beverage product brand. Then next is Wulan Lintang S.Pd which is a coaching team from one of the youth & entrepreneur communities in Surabaya.
The enthusiasm of the Muslim women in this study was quite high, as evidenced by the large number of participants who came, namely around 92 participants. They took part in a series of activities starting at 08.00 to 11.30 WIB with enthusiasm, starting from listening to the material presented by the two speakers, then continuing with questions and answers about the material, games and finally a group photo session. Seeing the success of this year's activities, the committee from KARIMAH AKBAR 2018 hopes that Muslim women's understanding of how productive concepts in accordance with Islam can be well embedded and useful so that they can be implemented in everyday life.
