ASEAN Foundation Model ASEAN Meeting Plus China (AFMAM Plus China)
In the context of the 31st ASEAN-China Anniversary, the ASEAN Foundation with the support of the Mission of the People's Republic of China for ASEAN organized the Asean China Young Leader Program (ACYLP). One of the activities is the ASEAN Foundation Model ASEAN Meeting Plus China (AFMAM Plus China) which is a program to promote and understand the role and function of ASEAN and its external partners through a fun but educational approach, simulating an ASEAN meeting. This program introduces ASEAN and its interests to the younger generation who are interested in studying international relations and diplomacy.
This program aims to encourage students to learn more about ASEAN and China relations, as well as to improve important skills and knowledge, especially regarding global awareness, cross-cultural skills, critical and innovative thinking, negotiation, public speaking, building insight into ASEAN and its surroundings, also pave the way to realize the shared vision of having a positive impact on ASEAN and the world. Another aim is to promote ASEAN students' interest in diplomacy in ASEAN and China through authentic, hands-on simulation experiences that include ASEAN Member States (AMS) practices in decision-making addressing regional issues and equip students with important twenty-first century competencies.
