English Course is one of the work programs of the Hima Islamic Economics Student Cooperation and Welfare Division (Jakesma). This program is designed as a forum for English learning aimed at all students Universitas Airlangga . The main objective of this activity is to improve participant English language skills and assist them in achieving the minimum score that has been set. The English Course implementation was carried out by two waves in one management period in collaboration with the Language and Multibudaya Center Universitas Airlangga (Pusbamulya Unair). The first English Course will be held on April 30, 2025 - 9 May 2025, while the second wave of English Course will be held on November 10-17 2025
English Course consisting of two sub -events, namely training and test. In each English course wave, 3 training is held (listening, structure, reading, review all lesson) and 1 test, the final test as a closing of this English Course event. All English Course activities will be carried out through Zoom Meeting (Online). This activity can be attended by all Universitas Airlangga from various faculties.
Before the training, the Jakesma Division opened the participant registration through a form accompanied by a payment system. Registration is closed no later than 10 days before the activity starts. To take the English Course, participants are required to pay a contribution of Rp125,000 per person. These costs include all training and examination facilities, including learning materials and discussion of training questions that will be given by the speaker from Pusbamulya Airlangga.
This program is in line with the goal of sustainable development (Sustainable Development Goals/SDGs) 4 points, namely quality education. By providing access to structured and affordable English training, English Course is expected to be able to make a real contribution in improving student competencies, especially in mastering English. In addition, this program also plays a role in supporting the achievement of higher TOEFL scores, namely above 450, as one of the graduation conditions or other administrative requirements.
