An FEB UNAIR student was selected as a delegate for the 2022 Istanbul Youth Summit, an international high-level conference organized by the Youth Break the Boundaries (YBB) Foundation. Taking place in Istanbul, Turkey, the event will be held on 14-17 February 2022. This year's IYS has the theme "Development responses plan of the youth in crisis recovery" or the design of a development strategy that can be implemented as a form of crisis recovery. The participants involved are challenged to present ideas, suggestions and solutions according to their field. Fathan Ramadhon, a student of Bachelor of Islamic Economics FEB UNAIR 2018, was one of the participants. Fathan said that the event was attended by youth from various countries such as Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Canada, Libya, Croatia, Turkey, Ecuador, Bangladesh, Egypt and Jordan.
The Istanbul Youth Summit selection is divided into several stages. Namely scientific essays, CVs, motivational videos, and interviews. Participants who pass the selection will receive a Letter of Acceptance (LoA). The initial selection is carried out by sending an Essay with the theme "Development responses plan of the youth in crisis recovery" and sub-themes in the form of Education, Economy, Government, Social, Public Health and Environment. Fathan himself took the economics sub-theme because it is still related to his major at FEB UNAIR, namely Islamic Economics.
After passing the selection, at the event each participant will have the opportunity to present their ideas and ideas to help design development strategies in times of crisis.
Through this program, participants will learn about the design of development strategies that can be implemented as a form of crisis recovery. It doesn't stop there, the selected young people will also learn many things from various perspectives from other countries which will really help strengthen networking.
