The Association of Indonesian Student Reasoning and Research Institutions (ILP2MI) is a student association whose aim is to develop a culture of reasoning and research among Indonesian students. The activities carried out lead to the Tri Dharma of higher education. ILP2MI has several missions to achieve, including: first, to build communication and cooperation between student reasoning and research institutions throughout Indonesia, second, to build intensive research collaboration with the government, private sector and society. Third, to publish research results in the form of journals and scientific articles, fourth, to apply student research results to the community. So, as an effort to realize this mission, ILP2MI held a national activity, namely the National Symposium (SIMPOSNAS). This activity is carried out every year and in 2022, SIMPOSNAS will return with a different concept from the previous year.
Since Indonesia has been facing an emergency situation with the COVID-19 pandemic since January 2020. Community activities also change according to current conditions. Society, which usually meets face to face and always meets to communicate and carry out activities, has begun to change since the pandemic began. Activities began to be carried out online and were only carried out through meeting platforms. Not only community activities in general, student activities have also been affected by this pandemic, including the National Symposium activities from 2020 to 2021 which will be held online. In 2022, the government has succeeded in handling the pandemic, so that community activities will gradually return to normal
as before, but still paying attention to government regulations regarding the prevention of COVID-19.
In connection with these conditions, ILP2MI through the Department of Education and Training (DEPDIK) is again holding a National Symposium which will be held in South Sulawesi, with the theme "The Role of Youth: initiate collaboration, awareness, and recovery to encourage G20 goals". This theme has a deep meaning, where the philosophy behind the birth of this theme adapts to current world conditions. Through the G2O moment, Indonesia plays an important role as together with all the countries that are members of the G20, the spirit to revive and restore the economy is an important point that must be paid attention to equally. As a form of ILP2MI's contribution to the government, ILP2MI is presenting National Symposium activities, with the aim of regenerating Indonesian students' interest in developing their potential in the field of research, as well as contributing their ideas to implementing national recovery.
Universitas Airlangga took part in this by delegating a student named Abdul Rohman (S1 – Accounting) as well as a representative from the Faculty of Economics and Business. With all hopes and prayers to bring victory to his side. This event will be held in Makassar on 10 – 13 November 2022.
