Youth Sharia Sociopreneurship Competition (YSSC) is an open competition for students who have innovative business ideas in developing businesses in the agriculture, food, fashion and new renewable energy sectors by prioritizing sharia values. The main aim of holding this competition is to encourage a change in students' paradigm to be more oriented as entrepreneurs through innovation in production, distribution and/or marketing processes. The business ideas proposed in this competition are not only oriented towards generating income, but can also solve social problems through empowering local communities.
YSSC has two stages. The first stage is the stage where participants will compete to provide their best business ideas, then it will be determined who will be the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners for this stage. In the second stage, the big three who were determined in the first stage will be required to build a business according to their initial business idea. This stage will determine which business is the best and most sustainable, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be crowned with different prize sizes.
The GELATAH team from Universitas Airlangga , succeeded in winning second place in the first stage of YSSC at the end of 2021. Now, there will be a final stage in the form of an exhibition and final announcement which will be held offline in Jakarta on 5-9 October 2022. The names of the delegates who will represent include Abdul Rohman from Bachelor of Accounting, Vita Amalia Hidayati from Bachelor of Accounting, Zafirah Haezah Hazrati Muftin from Bachelor of Development Economics, and Pradayan Adli from Bachelor of Environmental Engineering.
