- KIWIE is an abbreviation for Korea International Women's Invention Exposition, which is a platform that accommodates women's creative ideas and supports female inventors to grow as economic subjects.
- KIWIE aims to increase youth interest in innovation activities and strengthen the foundation for innovation for women. This activity also facilitates meetings between female inventors at home and abroad and builds a global network for them.
- By holding this event, it is hoped that it will be possible to evaluate the technology, invented products and patents that have been developed by women at home and abroad and appreciate them through awards. This activity is also an opportunity to promote the results of innovations that have been developed by female inventors.
- Organized by the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and the Korean Women Inventors' Association (KWIA). KWIA was founded in 1993 and received authorization from the Korean Intellectual Property Office in 1999 to carry out promotional activities for the inventions of female inventors.
- This activity is also supported by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the International Federation of Inventors Associations (IFIA), the Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Korean Ministry of Gender Equality, and the Korean Family, Ministry Korean SMEs and startups, Seoul Metropolitan Government, and Gyeonggi-do Provincial Government
- On the scale of participation, the Korea International Women's Invention Exhibition in 2017 succeeded in bringing in 217 companies, and the Korea International Women's Invention Competition succeeded in bringing in 274 inventions, a total of 164 inventions from Korea and 110 inventions from 16 countries.
- This event will take place for three days, 25 August – 27 August in Hall 4, Exhibition Center 1 (KINTEX).
