Humans live side by side with various social and humanitarian issues that demand concern and concrete action to create positive changes. As students, our role is not only limited to gaining knowledge, but also contributes to solving existing social problems, one of which is through community service that is part of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. Department of Community Service Agency for Student Executive Agency of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga 2025 presents ABDI space, a work program aimed at forming high-minded students, caring for the surrounding environment, and active in providing solutions to social and humanitarian issues.
In its implementation, the ABDI room is oriented to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) points, namely SDG 4 (quality education), SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth), and SDG 13 (Handling Climate Change). The ABDI room contributes to supporting access to quality education by presenting various educational programs and disseminating information that is beneficial to the community. In addition, this program also seeks to encourage economic growth by providing support to individuals and communities in improving better skills and job opportunities. Not only that, the ABDI space also plays a role in efforts to maintain environmental sustainability by initiating concrete actions that focus on preservation of nature, reducing negative impacts on the environment, and increasing awareness of the importance of mitigation of climate change.
To realize this goal, the Abdi room is divided into two main sub-activities. Information information becomes a forum for students to get information about community service opportunities through seminars, workshops, and educational publications, so as to increase their awareness and readiness in contributing significantly. Meanwhile, volunteering activities involve students in direct social actions, such as community education, environmental management, and economic empowerment programs, which aim to provide positive and sustainable impacts for the surrounding community. With the ABDI room, it is hoped that students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga can be more active in carrying out their role as agents of change, not only in the academic scope but also in developing a more powerful, prosperous, and sustainable society.
