Entering the world of college is a new chapter in a person's educational journey. The young generation who were originally known as students transformed into university students as a sign of the start of the world of college for them. Their dreams and aspirations are so big, supported by their potential, interests and talents, that sometimes they give rise to doubts in determining their future direction. Students are often faced with the dilemma of choosing to focus on academics, organizations, or trying to balance the two. In addition, students who are still unfamiliar with an organization sometimes feel hesitant to join and are afraid of various unknown things.
Based on this problem, the Student Resources Development Bureau of BEM FEB UNAIR held an agenda or work program "SOBEM" to facilitate new students class of 2024 to do an internship at BEM FEB UNAIR for three months. This program is intended for new students to learn to organize and get to know more about the structure of each bureau and department in BEM FEB UNAIR and gives them the opportunity to be directly involved and contribute to each work program so that they can develop and process into individuals who are ready to face various challenges and has a leadership spirit. Through this work program, new students from the class of 2024 are expected to be ready to contribute and be ready to become leaders through BEM FEB UNAIR in 2025.
The existence of the BEM Friends (SOBEM) work program also contributes to realizing the 4th SDGs, namely quality education by providing access to quality education for new students and encourage equality and inclusiveness in education. Through the SOBEM program, new students will be trained to interact directly with various parties, such as other FEB UNAIR students, the academic community and the wider community. This aims to develop their public speaking abilities and soft skills. Apart from that, this program will also equip students with effective time management and problem solving skills to complete assignments and face various obstacles in their work. In this way, it is hoped that SOBEM can produce young leaders of quality and character for FEB UNAIR and the wider community.
