In this global era, apart from technology, we are increasingly inseparable from the English language. English has become a universal language throughout the world that allows people from different countries, languages and cultures, to communicate. We can now almost encounter English every day, whether it is used on social media, in class lectures, or even in daily conversations. English also plays a crucial role in the world of business and work, and is one of the main requirements if you want to get a scholarship, especially abroad.

To get official recognition of their English language skills, anyone can take official English tests such as TOEIC, TOEFL, and IELTS. Generally, currently the ones widely used are TOEFL and IELTS. These two test certificates can be used to apply for scholarships or jobs in various agencies, especially multi-national agencies which are in high demand. In fact, having a TOEFL or IELTS certificate with good grades seems to be an obligation nowadays.

Therefore, BEM FEB UNAIR presents E-Dev, or English Development, which is a forum for students at the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga to develop English, especially in preparing for TOEFL. Together with the TEXAS English Course and Training Center, E-Dev was successfully held on April 26 and 27 2019.

On the first day of E-Dev on April 26 2019 which was held in the Fadjar Hall FEB UNAIR, students received TOEFL training by trusted and experienced trainers from the TEXAS English Course and Training Center. There, participants are given direction, teaching, as well as tips and tricks for working on TOEFL questions ranging from listening, grammar and structure, to reading.

On the second day of E-Dev which was held in the Soepoyo Hall FEB UNAIR the following day (27/04/19), armed with knowledge from the previous day's training, FEB students took the TOEFL Prediction test which has the exact same mechanism and type and weight of questions as TOEFL iTP . Later, participants will receive their test results in the form of a TOEFL Prediction certificate which is valid nationally.

By holding E-Dev at FEB UNAIR, it is hoped that it can increase interest and knowledge about the importance of TOEFL, as well as help FEB UNAIR students maximize their English language potential and achieve good TOEFL scores.
