(Feb News) Friday, February 28, 2025 - Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB Unair) again held the "Teaching CEO" program by presenting the Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) East Java - Untung Basuki, SE, ME as the main speaker. The event which took place in the Soepoyo Hall, 3rd Floor FEB Unair raised the theme "Customs in the Digital Era: Innovation and Challenges in Supervision of Imported Goods".
In his presentation, Untung Basuki, SE, ME emphasized the four main roles of DJBC, namely:
1. Industrial Assistance: Providing support to the domestic industry to achieve competitive advantage in the international market.
2. Trade Facilitator: Facilitating trade to reduce costs and create a conducive trading climate.
3. Community Protector: Protect the public from the threat of illegal goods and goods that are prohibited or limited.
4. Revenue Collector: Gather and optimize state revenue.
He also explained the DJBC revenue target for the 2025 fiscal year of Rp301.60 trillion, with contributions from import duties, export duties, and excise. In addition, the challenges in the supervision of imported goods in the digital era are also discussed, including the vast area of supervision, the dynamics of international trade, and an increasingly complex illegal import mode. To overcome these challenges, DJBC has implemented various digital innovations, such as the use of internal and external applications, technological -based infrastructure development, and the development of digital media platforms to support supervision activities.
Before the main event took place, a meeting was held between the Head of the East Java I DJBC Regional Office together with the Dean of FEB UNAIR - Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA., Deputy Dean of FEB UNAIR - Dr. Wisnu Wibowo, and Chair of the Accounting Department - Dr. Wiwik Supratiwi, Dra., M.BA, Ak ... This meeting discusses the exploration of cooperation opportunities between DJBC and FEB Unair, especially in the fields of education, research, and community service, in order to improve the quality of human resources and contribute to the national economy.
The "CEO Teaching CEO" program is part of FEB UNAIR's efforts to improve the quality of graduates through collaboration with practitioners and professionals in various fields.
This teaching CEO program not only provides benefits for students, but also for DJBC and FEB Unair. Students get practical insights from policy makers, enrich their understanding of trade and customs policies. For DJBC, this event became a place to socialize policies and opportunities to capture potential young talents. Meanwhile, for FEB UNAIR, this program strengthens the network with the industrial world and enriching academic learning with the perspective of professional practitioners.
