(FEB NEWS) Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) successfully held the National Seminar IDSC 2024 with the theme "Youth Driving Creative Economy & Collaborating in Education for a Sustainable Future" on Saturday, 9 November 2024. This seminar, which took place in the Ternate Hall , Aseec Tower, is a valuable platform for students to explore the role of youth in driving the creative economy and the importance of collaboration in education towards a sustainable future.
This seminar presented inspirational speakers such as Jerhemy Owen, who explored how the creative economy can grow through innovation led by the younger generation. Jerhemy Owen explained the great potential of a locally based creative economy, such as tourist villages, which can be developed through the participation of youth and local communities. By utilizing unique culture and digital technology, the younger generation can elevate regional potential to a wider market, creating a sustainable economic impact on the surrounding environment.
As a representative from the industrial world, Kahf from Paragon also shared the company's perspective in supporting a sustainable creative economy. Kahf revealed how Paragon has collaborated with local communities to produce innovative products that combine Indonesian cultural values with current developments.
As the closing speaker, Fathia Fairuza conveyed ideas about the importance of cross-sector collaboration in the field of education to support a sustainable future. Fathia emphasized the importance of synergy between educational institutions, government and the private sector to create educational programs that are able to equip the younger generation with relevant skills to face future challenges.
This seminar not only focuses on increasing the capacity and professionalism of participants, but also contributes to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through strategic and collaborative partnerships.
