(FEB NEWS) Thursday, 8 August 2024 – Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) proudly held the 63rd Anniversary Celebration in the Fadjar Notonagoro Hall, 2nd Floor, FEB UNAIR. This event was not only a moment of reflection on the faculty's long journey, but also an important milestone in the development of entrepreneurship in the academic environment, marked by the symbolic handover of the "Entrepreneurship Center" from Bank Indonesia.
Present to give a speech was the Chancellor Universitas Airlangga - Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE, MT, Ak., Deputy Chancellor II UNAIR - Prof. Dr. Muhammad Madyan, SE, M.Si., M.Fin. In his speech, Prof. Madyan, believes that with the spirit of togetherness and hard work FEB UNAIR will be able to achieve its Vision and Mission, "let's make this anniversary a momentum to strengthen synergy and collaboration with the entire academic community."
On the same occasion, the Chancellor Universitas Airlangga , in his speech, said that FEB UNAIR has a strategic role in overcoming two main challenges in the world of education, namely accessibility and relevance. He hopes that with FEB UNAIR's contribution, the education participation rate can increase, considering that FEB UNAIR students contribute 25% of the total UNAIR students. Furthermore, the relevance of the education offered by FEB UNAIR is expected to be able to reduce the youth unemployment rate by increasing the employability of its graduates.
According to Prof. Nasih, in the future the University will be encouraged to become a Knowledge Based Entrepreneur University and it is hoped that FEB UNAIR will be able to become the backbone to lead UNAIR to the title of Knowledge-Based Entrepreneur University, and bring UNAIR to greater progress and glory.
Dean of FEB UNAIR – Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA emphasized FEB UNAIR's commitment to not only produce graduates who are intellectually intelligent, but also have noble character, in accordance with Universitas Airlangga , "excellence with morality," which is embodied in GREAT UNAIR character. Quoting Nelson Mandela, he emphasized the importance of education as the most powerful weapon to change the world, and encouraged all parties to continue to innovate for the progress of the nation. The Dean also sees the Dies Natalis moment as the right time to strengthen synergy with a spirit of togetherness and love, which is expected to bring FEB UNAIR to greater achievements. With this spirit, he invited all parties to work together and make FEB UNAIR an educational institution that is not only academically superior, but also a second home full of love and care.
In this event, a symbolic handover ceremony of the "Entrepreneurship Center" was also held by the Deputy Representative of Bank Indonesia for East Java Province, Mr. M. Noor Nugroho, to the Dean of FEB UNAIR – Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA. This Entrepreneurship Center will be a forum for students to hone and develop creative and innovative ideas which are expected to produce unique businesses and works with high economic value. Apart from that, it is also hoped that the Entrepreneurship Center can become a means for FEB UNAIR to contribute to developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem, both among students and the community, through various activities such as training, apprenticeships, consultations and mentoring in the field of cooperatives and MSMEs.
Not only that, this Dies Natalis event was also enlivened with special offerings from PKRI in collaboration with the EKRAF Department through the FEB Market event. This bazaar displays a variety of innovative works and products from FEB students, ranging from fashion, handicrafts, to food and drinks. FEB Market is a platform to show students' creativity and entrepreneurial skills, as well as a means of promoting the unique products they produce.
The excitement of the Dies Natalis event is increasingly peaking with various interesting entertainment and surprises. The participants were treated to an energetic performance from Coffeemix Dance which livened up the atmosphere, followed by the eagerly awaited door prize drawing. The event became even more special with the announcement of the main prize in the form of an Umrah package, which was won by 2 FEB UNAIR Tendik: Merina Mirzatriana, SE. and Rudi Premana, who meets the requirements, has never been on Umrah or Hajj. Don't forget, the announcement of the winners of the Fun Game added to the joy and togetherness among all the attendees, making this Dies Natalis unforgettable.
