Ambassador Selection was held at Ternate Hall ASEEC Tower, Campus B Unair.
And yes, once again, the Airlangga University Ambassador, in 2023 went to the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga
1st Place for Men, 2019 Unair Ambassador - Jeremia Singgih (2018 Management Study Program)
1st Place for Men, 2021 Unair Ambassador - Made Bagus Tutuan Andika Kaya (Accounting Study Program FEB UNAIR 2019)
1st Place for Men's Ambassador UNAIR 2022 - Farrel Christian Tomo (Management Study Program FEB UNAIR 2020)
1st Place for Women Ambassador Unair 2023 - Komang Putri Widya Pratiwi (Development Economics Study Program FEB UNAIR 2021), and only in 2020 there were no elections due to the epidemic covid 19.
Komang Putri Widya Pratiwi, a student from the 2021 Development Economics study program, won 1st place in the Universitas Airlangga . The student born in Bali Province was able to show her best performance again!
Before being declared champion, Putri Widya, her nickname, was often found on the occasion of being Master of Ceremonies, Moderator and Speaker at campus activities. Not only has he established himself in the academic field, he has also achieved achievements in the non-academic field, namely 1st Winner Ambassador of the Faculty of Economics and Business 2021 and Winner Best of Product Distributor at the 2021 FEB Awards. In fact, he is a figure who actively participates in student activities such as joining in the cabinet of the FEB UNAIR Student Executive Board and the Hindu Dharma Spiritual Student Activity Unit.
Participating in the Universitas Airlangga Ambassador Election has been his dream since 2022. However, doubts still clouded his mind and he decided to postpone participation at that time. This is different from 2023, being busy participating in MSIB activities does not cover his steps to establish himself as a participant in the Unair Ambassador Election. Putri Widya said "If we don't dare to try it, we don't know the results."
Universitas Airlangga Ambassador Selection activities have had quite a long series since October. Starting with the first selection, namely administrative files, focus group discussions, and written tests. Then, from the 54 participants, 30 semifinalists were determined to be Universitas Airlangga 2023. The competition was even tighter, because the semifinalists would enter the second selection with a talent show, presentation test and interview. So from the entire selection series, 18 Universitas Airlangga for 2023. There were 2 FEB UNAIR students who were selected as finalists, namely Muhammad Rifki Ivan Alfizar (Islamic Economics 2022) and Komang Putri Widya Pratiwi (Development Economics 2021).
Not only that, the finalists must prepare themselves to take part in quarantine activities. In 2023, quarantine will be carried out 3 times. Various materials ranging from embassy classes, public speaking, catwalk, beauty and grooming classes, protocol, BEM UNAIR, community groups, and Airlangga Global Angagement (AGE). Before entering the grand final, the finalists met with the judges for introductions and interviews.
Thursday, December 7 2023, right at Ternate Hall ASEEC Tower, Campus B UNAIR was busy holding the Universitas Airlangga . The event was attended by lecturers, jury members, Cak and Ning Surabaya, university ambassadors in East Java, UNAIR faculty ambassadors, parents of finalists, as well as students who support their respective faculties. Eliminations were carried out in stages starting from paired speeches on SDGs topics and Focus Group Discussions for the top 5. As the night went on, the competition got tighter because the top 3 finalists were given QnA using English.
So after taking part in a series of events, the 6 winners of Universitas Airlangga 2023 were announced. 1st place for Universitas Airlangga was again won by the Faculty of Economics and Business in the Women's category by Komang Putri Widya Pratiwi. A truly proud achievement for the Faculty of Economics and Business. Putri Widya also gave tips that she has implemented, namely "Only yourself knows your potential, you don't need to look at your neighbor's grass which might be greener. Stay confident, show your best, because the results will not betray your efforts!"
