(FEB NEWS) Triple Helix Collaboration Coordination Meeting between Gresik Regency Government, Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) and the Business/Industrial World to discuss Structured Internships - MBKM by FEB UNAIR, as a follow-up to the collaboration initiation meeting by FEB UNAIR to The Gresik Regency Government some time ago (11/8/2022), was held from the Graita Eka Praya Meeting Room, Gresik Regency Government Office (26/8/2022).

The Coordination Meeting which discussed the scheme for the implementation of the Structured Internship Program - MBKM, was held as a form of shared responsibility, where the Government as a policy maker, the University as an education provider, and industry as a provider of community service needs, to achieve a common goal, namely, realizing education that is quality so as to be able to produce superior human resources for Indonesia.

Present at the meeting: A team from FEB UNAIR led by the Dean of FEB UNAIR – Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA.; Regent of Gresik – H. Fandi Akhmad Yani, SE. and their staff, also from the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) of the Gresik Regency Government, namely Head of Agency, Head of Service; and then from the business world, present: PT. Smeting, PT Liku Telaga Tbk., PT. Gresik Industrial Area, PT. Petrokimia Kayaku, PT Nipsea Paint And Chemicals (Nippon Paint), PT Berkah Kawasan Manyar Sejahtera (BKMS), PT Pertamina Lubricants Production Unit Gresik, PT Bank Tabungan Negara Distribution East Java Gresik Area; PT. East Java State Electricity Distribution Company; PT. Manage Marine Mina; Then BUMD and also BAZNAS.

H. Fandi Akhmad Yani, SE (Regent of Gresik), is very confident about the Minister's innovation, namely the MBKM Program, "where half of the students can study on campus and half can study outside campus. Currently, this is already a strategy that "Most appropriate, when the Minister adds innovation in the education sector, where internships become an acceleration." 

Gus Yani believes that through the Structured Internship program - MBKM FEB UNAIR, it will bring extraordinary results "that with the current system, with the demographic bonus, human resources are truly progressive, HR can answer future challenges, internships are converted up to 20 credits”. According to Gus Yani, students will really need internship experience, both in the industrial sector and in the government sector. "That's why we should encourage this program, we should help, so that this internship program can run well."

The Regent of Gresik also assured the meeting guests who were present that there was no need to doubt the quality of FEB UNAIR students, "I guarantee that my students' quality is not poor, if you are still in doubt, you can look at the Regent's portrait," which was greeted with laughter. audience, meeting participants.

Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA. stated that the collaboration we want to build is a mutually beneficial collaboration, "if our students do not bring benefits to the industrial/government environment, then you can return our students. Likewise, if there is no place that suits the competencies required of our students, then it would be better not to force this collaboration, because UNAIR is Excellence With Morality, and in reality collaboration is of course mutually beneficial, and if cannot provide mutual benefits, then it cannot be said to be collaborating." FEB UNAIR also hopes that students can gain a lot of lessons/knowledge, insight, experience directly from where they work as interns, according to the course content they need.  

The meeting went very well, and most were ready to collaborate from both the government and industrial sectors, but there were still several companies that needed further processes to reach an agreement.

In the closing session, Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA. expressed his gratitude to the Gresik Regency Government for facilitating this event to realize the President's ideals/aspirations of Indonesia, so that together they share (a Javanese term quoted by the Dean of FEB UNAIR) experiences for the younger generation/HR who are 5 next year he will become leader. The Dean of FEB UNAIR also agreed with Gus Yani, "that by sharing this experience, once students graduate, they will not immediately enter the wilderness, but they will already have one candle to reach their goal, serving the country."
