UNAIR NEWS – As a form of commitment to improve knowledge in the field of management, three universities held an activity entitled The Joint Committee of Conference Asia Academy of Management – ​​AAOM 2019. The event was held in collaboration with the Asia Academy of Management – Universitas Airlangga Indonesia – Universitas Pertamina Indonesia .

Taking place at the Patra Hotel Bali, the event which was held from 19 to 21 June 2019, was carried out in the form of an International Conference Activity. Regarding the activity which was attended by 667 participants from 27 countries in Asia, Europe and America, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business UNAIIR Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., M.Si., Ak., said that the activity, which was held for the first time in Indonesia, was a prestigious forum, especially for scientists in the field of management science.

"This is a very prestigious event for our management scientists," he said.

Found by UNAIR NEWS during the activity break, Prof. Dian said that as a party that fully supports this activity, her party hopes that in the future management scientists can further improve the quality and quantity of research regarding management movements in Indonesia. Not only that, this activity, for Prof. Dian is also one way to improve the quality of management scientists in Indonesia, especially UNAIR.

"Of course, this prestigious activity can be an excellent forum for improving the quality of our scientists," he said.

In the end, as the first activity in Indonesia, continued Prof. Dian, this activity could be an initial milestone in strengthening the position of Indonesian management scientists in the eyes of the world. As additional information, AAOM activities were recorded as having been carried out in 1998 in Hong Kong, 2000 in Singapore, 2002 in Bangkok, 2004 in Shanghai, 2006 in Tokyo, 2008 in Taipei, 2010 in Macau, 2012 in Seoul, 2015 in Hong Kong, 2017 in Kitakyushu , and 2019 in Bali.

Regarding AAOM 2019 participants there were 249 with a total of 26 countries consisting of Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Australia, Indonesia, USA, Singapore, South Korea, Netherland, Japan, United Kingdom, India, Canada, Denmark Pakistan, New Zealand, UAE, Bangladesh , France, Malaysia, Thailand, Israel, Norway, Philippines, Scotland, Switzerland, Vietnam.
