Abstract
This research focuses on the status of lecturers as the foundation of a University, because they are responsible for educating the new generation who can make the name of the University proud, so it is not surprising that lecturers are called the most valuable assets of the University (Ramírez Córcoles et al., 2011; Suyunus, 2011; Ulum , 2012). This research is narrative research with an interpretive paradigm, to find out and explain Universitas Airlangga objectives in re-employing retired lecturers or professors at FEB Unair and to find out the benefits obtained by retired professors or lecturers who return to teach at the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga . The narrative method is more suitable as a research method, because there is a specific phenomenon, so it can explain the phenomenon of recruiting retired lecturers or professors at Universitas Airlangga , Surabaya. There is always reciprocity in every relationship, including the relationship between universities and full-time lecturers. Universities have certain reasons for re-recruiting full-time lecturers, while full-time lecturers seek benefits from re-recruiting themselves.
