Abstract

Organizational change is a process by which an organization changes from its current state to a desired state to increase its effectiveness. This change requires support from leaders, management and all employees. This change will be successful if all members of the organization play a role in it. Someone who has a transformational leadership style will influence readiness for change which will have an impact on the development and formation of commitment to change from their employees. This research aims to analyze the influence of transformational leadership on commitment to change with readiness for change as a mediating variable. The variables used in this research are: transformational leadership, readiness for change, and commitment to change. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method and is supported by primary data from interviews and questionnaires. This research uses primary data from 70 employees, where the data was taken using a questionnaire distributed to permanent employees of PT. Telkom Regional Division V Surabaya. The analysis technique used is Partial Least Square (SmartPLS 3.0). The results show that transformational leadership does not have a significant effect on commitment to change, transformational leadership has a significant effect on readiness for change, and readiness for change has a significant effect on commitment to change. This means that readiness for change is proven to be a mediating variable and fully mediates between transformational leadership and commitment to change.
