Abstract

Competition and growth in hospitals requires hospitals as health service providers to provide the best service. One aspect that is counted as the quality of hospital services is the service of health workers. One of them is a resident. Residents are doctors who are currently undergoing specialist training. Residents are required to provide the best service, just like specialist doctors. The task of being a residency doctor is not easy. Balancing professional life as a doctor, academics and family is a task that must be carried out by residents. Therefore, work as a resident is vulnerable to burnout. The aim of this research is to see the influence exerted by impostor syndrome and how the influence of impostor syndrome is moderated by maladaptive perfectionism on job burnout. This study used 52 resident doctors at one of the regional general hospitals. The analysis technique used is regression. The results of this study state that impostor syndrome has an influence on job burnout and this influence will be stronger if moderated by maladaptive perfectionism. These results are expected to provide input to hospitals regarding job burnout related to impostor syndrome and maladaptive perfectionism.
