Abstract

The aim of this research is to prove the influence of internal diversity and external diversity on company performance. Internal diversity is described by scientific field, education level, age and gender. External diversity is described through special relationships and multiple positions. The data analysis method used is descriptive statistics and hypothesis testing using multiple linear regression analysis using the SPSS 21.0 application. The population in this research are manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2016-2018. The sample selection in this study used a saturated sample with a total sample of 252 manufacturing companies. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion previously explained, research results show that internal diversity, which is described through the scientific fields of economics and corporate secretary business, results in higher company performance compared to other scientific fields. The level of education has a positive effect on company performance. Companies with female company secretaries have higher performance than male company secretaries. External diversity in this research is described by special relationships and multiple positions. Company secretaries with special relationships have higher company performance than those without. External diversity is depicted through company secretaries with multiple positions having lower company performance than those without
