GALAKSI (Scientific Writing Celebration) 2018 STUDENT SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES UNIT (UKIM) SURABAYA STATE UNIVERSITY





GALAKSI is an annual activity of UKIM (Student Scientific Activity Unit) Surabaya State University. GALAKSI as a means of developing creative, innovative and applicable ideas from the nation's children as well as training students in criticizing and analyzing problems occurring in Indonesia on the basis of rational thought and knowledge. event consists of LKTI for students throughout Indonesia, National Essay Competition for high school/equivalent students throughout Indonesia, and a National Literacy Talkshow.

This year, GALAKSI has a big activity theme, namely "The Role of Literacy as a Relay for National Civilization". The theme for the LKTI is the Role of Youth in National Development Through Literacy Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045, and the theme for the National Essay Competition is Various Creations and Innovations Through Literacy Culture in Creating a Globally Competitive Generation. And the closing event is the National Literacy Talkshow with the theme "The Role of Literacy for Youth in Facing the Industrial Revolution 4.0".

The National Scientific Writing Competition is attended by students from all universities in Indonesia. The first stage of LKTI selection is by sending Abstracts to take the 30 best works, and the second stage is by sending Full Papers to take the 15 best works as LKTI GALAKSI finalists and following the next stage, namely Paper presentation at Surabaya State University on 27 October 2018.

The paper presentation was held at the Faculty of Engineering, Surabaya State University on 27 October 2018, which was attended by 15 finalists from UNESA, ITS, UB, UM, PPNS, PENS, UGM, UNAIR, UTM, and UBM. UNAIR sent 2 finalist teams from the Faculty of Economics and Business UNAIR and the Faculty of Pharmacy UNAIR. Delegates from FEB UNAIR were Arintis Wahyu Susanti (2015 Accounting), Retno Wulan Dari (2015 Management), and Zahro Ubaydilla (2017 Islamic Economics).

At the end of the National Literacy Talkshow, the winners of the GALAKSI paper competition agenda were announced as 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, 1st place winner, 2nd place winner, 3rd place winner, The Best Paper, and The Best Presentation. UNAIR succeeded in getting 3rd place by the delegation team from the Faculty of Pharmacy.
