Indonesia Economics Events (ECCENTS) is an event that aims
to accommodate and provide an opportunity for students to think critically,
especially about the economy, discuss, and put forward solutions and
policy suggestions for current economic issues in order to encourage the nation's progress
from an economic perspective, especially carrying out productive activities. by students.
In 2018, ECCENTS raised the theme "Surfing the Waves of Public
Goods Development to Alleviate Inequality". ECCENTS has 5 series of
events held at different places and times, namely Competition,
NEC (Night Economic Case), National Seminar, Gala Dinner, and Field Trip.
The competition consists of three stages. The first stage is "Abstract
Elimination", the second stage is "Research Competition", the third stage is
"Meet the Judicators". Teams that pass stage two will be invited as
delegates and take part in the series of Indonesia Economics Events (11th
ECCENTS). The third stage of the competition was held on 26
October 2018 at the Mindrowo Hall, Faculty of Economics and Business,
Universitas Airlangga .
Night Economic Case (NEC) is a discussion panel attended
by practitioners and academics as speakers which opens with
a presentation of material followed by a discussion session. The NEC was held on
26 October 2018 at the Fadjar Hall, Faculty of Economics and Business,
Universitas Airlangga with the theme "Trade Wars to Local Business: Opportunities
or Threat?". In this activity, we invited 5 speakers,
including Dedy Irianto (Head of the Economic Assessment and
Surveillance Function of Bank Indonesia), M. Arif Widodo (Head of the Program and Budget Subdivision
of the East Java Industry and Trade Department), Firdaus Aditya Rizqi (Head of
the KR4 Bank Supervision
East Java), Angga Erlando (Lecturer at FEB Airlangga University).
The National Seminar was held on 27 October 2018
at the Fadjar Hall, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga
with the theme "The Magnifcent Side of Transportation Waves Development".
In this activity, we invited 5 speakers, including Wahid Wahyudi (Assistant for Economics and Development of East Java Province), Agus Taufik M. (Chairman of the Presidium of the Indonesian Society), Hot Rudolf Marihot (Main Director of PT. BJTI PORT), Joko Supriyanto ( Head of Traffic, Surabaya Transportation Department), Hitapriya Suprayitno (ITS Civil Engineering Lecturer). With 5 speakers, we divided them into 2 national dialogue sessions guided by a moderator named Brigita Manohara.
The Gala Dinner was held on 27 October 2018 at the Fadjar Hall, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga . In this Gala Dinner activity, we invited several lecturers and delegates. In this activity we also announced the champions for the delegates who had taken part in the ECCENTS competition.
The last series of ECCENTS events is Field Trip. The Field Trip
was carried out on October 28 2018 with various places
to visit in the Surabaya area, including the Heroes Monument,
Surabaya Museum, Surabaya Northquay. This activity aims to establish familiarity
with the delegates and introduce the city of Surabaya to the delegates.
ECCENTS itself is a forum for students to think critically. Therefore
, it is hoped that ECCENTS can continue to inspire many students
to continue to think critically and participate in proposing solutions to
problems, especially in the economy, so that they can become agents
of change for the Indonesian nation.
