2nd Islamic Economic Student Summit
Synergy of Islamic Economics Student Associations throughout Indonesia
The Islamic Economics Student Summit (IESS) is an annual event held by the Islamic Economics Student Association in Indonesia. IESS was initiated by 4 state universities in Indonesia, namely Universitas Airlangga , University of Indonesia, Padjadjaran University, and Diponegoro University. This event also invited all Islamic Economics Student Associations or throughout Indonesia to participate and contribute their thoughts to the development of Islamic economics, especially in Indonesia. This event has the aim of being a place for discussion of Islamic economics and discussion of national level organizations, the output of which will be a press release on the study topic which will be recommended to relevant stakeholders from the government, private sector and parties related to the results of the discussion.
This time IESS refers to the huge potential of the creative economy to become one of the great powers of the Indonesian economy because Indonesia has quite a lot of Human Resources. IESS 2018 raises the grand theme "Industrial Revolution 4.0 based on an Islamic Perspective" which is divided into several sub-themes Halal Tourism, Sharia Start Up , Sharia MSMEs, and Sharia Marketing. In this event, a delegation from UNAIR was also a presenter by presenting a paper with the title "W – UF System: Optimizing empty land in cities, which is about blockchain waqf in supporting filling empty land in cities such as skyscrapers using Urban Farming, namely agriculture and plantations in urban areas. to address food security.
This IESS also discusses how we can move as students of Islamic economics to support the development and propagation of Islamic economics in Indonesia. Because the development of Islamic economics is very rapid and we as students must also support it in order to achieve the goal, namely the falah of shared prosperity. It is hoped that in the future the role of students in supporting the development of Islamic economics will be even greater.
