The Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga is an academic community which is the center for the development of science and business in Eastern Indonesia, especially East Java. As time goes by, there is a lot of knowledge and economic issues such as sharia economics and business that have become topics of discussion among economists and business people in Indonesia. Economics students are national assets whose existence is said to be "Agents of change" and are expected to be able to lead society towards a better economic life. They are expected to be able to channel their concern for the economic development of their nation, not just struggle, remain silent, and follow lecture material without wanting to look at economic conditions in the real world. Economics needs to be a world of attention and research for students who in fact are the younger generation to provide new discourse for the development of the nation's economy because the nation's economy is still a tangled stretch of thread that still requires a lot of research and study to establish it.
Mudharabah investment is one of the funding programs in the entrepreneurship division. We use mudharabah contracts for each of these funds. Where we only act as a liaison between the mudharib (business owner) and the shahibul maal (fund owner). We opened a booth for investment from 19 February to 3 March 2018, precisely in the corner of the FEB building, Universitas Airlangga from 08.00 to 16.00. We offer for every purchase of one securities at a price of IDR 50,000. The funds we have collected are around IDR 12,000,000 and we will distribute them to around five mudharibs who are active students of Islamic economics and existing businesses that are already running and we have surveyed their sustainability.
For transparency of results, we created a group with shahibul maal for monthly transparency reports and we hope that the money managed by mudharibs can grow. The distribution percentage is 45% for shahibul maal and 55% for mudharib. The funds will be returned along with the ratio around October at the end of the management. This work program has attracted quite a lot of mudharibs and shahibul maal because we have extended the investment collection period. But because we only choose businesses that are already running stably, we cannot receive a lot of mudarib to fund.
