Abstract

Based on the results of testing the real estate purchasing decision making model, this model shows that individuals who invest in house or apartment products tend to be heuristic in making purchasing decisions, while for individuals who buy a house as a place to live, their decision model tends to be more rational. The decision model also shows that young families make purchases rationally while mature families make purchases heuristically. However, there was no difference in the decision model in the Time for Buyer group. The interaction test also proves that first home buyers in young families with consumption motives tend to be more rational than not first home buyers in mature families with investment motives in making home purchase decisions. Income as a control variable does not show differences in models in making home purchase decisions, except when interacting with the family life cycle variable.
