Abstract

This research aims to obtain empirical evidence of the influence of political connections on voluntary disclosure. The sample in this research was 222 high profile companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) from 2015 to 2017. Data collection used the purposive sampling method. The analytical technique uses regression analysis with the R program version 3.4.3. The results show that political connections have a significant positive effect in the analysis of model 1 (0.0006 <0.01) and model 2 (0.081 <0.1) which can be interpreted that companies that have political connections disclose their volunteers more widely because they can reduce the cost of capital. where this is in line with the company's expectations and is of concern to investors.
