Abstract

This research is a type of descriptive qualitative research which aims to see and describe the level of crime that occurs in residential areas of Kediri City, especially around PT. Gudang Garam and West Sumbawa Regency around PT. Newmont Nusa Tenggara. The city of Kediri and West Sumbawa Regency were chosen because they both have the highest per capita income in the provinces of East Java and West Nusa Tenggara. This research was then interested in looking at the crime rate in the area, more specifically in the residential area around PT. Gudang Garam and PT. Newmont Nusa Tenggara. The results found in this research are that the crime rate in Kediri City from 2011 to 2013 has increased, as has the number of PORB from the same year. This is different from what happened in the West Sumbawa Regency area, where the crime rate from 20 II to 2013 decreased, although PORB fluctuated, namely experiencing a decrease from 2011 and 2012, and increased again in 2013. Based on CPTEO guidelines, housing in the city Kediri needs to make improvements in the area of Territoriality, while housing in West Sumbawa Regency needs to make improvements in the area of Access Control.
