The Scientific Writing Competition is one of a series of 2019 Economic Development Summit events organized by the Development Economics Department Student Association, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University, Jakarta. The top 7 finalists were announced on Tuesday, November 5 2019. The finalists included Universitas Airlangga , University of Indonesia, Semarang State University, Jakarta State University, UIN Malang, and 2 teams from UIN Jakarta. This triggers our team to be able to provide the best performance at the scientific paper presentation stage. On Sunday, November 10 2019 at exactly 15.30 we left for South Tangerang by bus and arrived on Monday, November 11 at 08.00 am. We went straight to the accommodation, namely at Green Lake View, Ciputat. In the afternoon from 17.00 to 20.30 we attended the Technical Meeting and Gala Dinner which was held in one of the halls of the Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University, Jakarta. The series of events include dinner, reading the rules for the scientific paper presentation stage, and taking the serial number for the scientific paper presentation stage. We got number 3 in the presentation stage. On Tuesday, November 12 2019 at 11.00 our team arrived at the work presentation stage which was held at the Theater 1 Building, Faculty of Economics and Business, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University, Jakarta. The following day, Wednesday, 13 November 2019, all finalists in the Scientific Writing Competition were required to watch and support the final activities of the debate competition which was also part of the 2019 Economic Development Summit. On Thursday, 14 November 2019, all finalists in the Scientific Writing Competition and The top 4 finalists in the Debate Competition took part in the Field Trip activity as the closing of the second series of competitions. This Field Trip activity is a visit to several places which aims to establish and strengthen relationships between students, both between one participant and another participant or also with the committee. We visited 2 places, namely Bank Indonesia and the Jakarta National Gallery. Exactly at 08.00 in the morning we set off on our journey. During our visit to Bank Indonesia we were given material about Central Banking and Monetary Operations by the Bank Indonesia Communications Department. Apart from that, as a closing activity at Bank Indonesia, the 2019 Economic Development Summit committee read out the announcement of the winners of the Scientific Writing Competition and Debate Competition. The winners of the Scientific Writing Competition included Universitas Airlangga as 1st Place, Semarang State University as 2nd Place, and UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta as 3rd Place. After the announcement was finished, we performed midday prayers and continued our visit to the Jakarta National Gallery until 16.30 in the afternoon. We returned to the inn. The next day, Friday, November 15 2019 we returned to Surabaya at exactly 14.00 by train.
The Scientific Writing Competition that we took part in was organized by Syarif Hidayatullah University, Jakarta. The event was held on 11-14 November 2019. Our motivation for participating in the competition was to gain experience, increase knowledge and also to be able to bring a good name to Universitas Airlangga . By participating in this event, we can increase our knowledge through other participants who also take part in the event so that later we can use the lessons in the future when participating in other scientific writing competitions. In participating in this event, of course our hope was to become 1st place and when the announcement came, Alhamdulillah, our team became 1st place in the competition. Of course we are very proud because our hard work has all paid off. Hopefully other friends from Universitas Airlangga , especially the Faculty of Economics and Business, can also bring a good name by taking part in similar competitions.
