In an effort to build an economy and society that involves all levels, the transformation of cooperatives to become more environmentally friendly is an important step to achieve sustainable economic growth. Cooperatives, as business organizations that uphold the value of inclusiveness, have a central role in empowering all members of society regardless of differences. As awareness of the importance of protecting the environment increases, implementing sustainable business becomes increasingly urgent. Green cooperatives demonstrate a commitment to environmentally friendly and sustainable business practices, wisely utilizing natural resources and preserving the environment.
In this context, Kopmaweek 2024 at Universitas Airlangga aims to increase awareness of the role of cooperatives in building an inclusive and sustainable economy, as well as inspire concrete steps towards a more environmentally friendly cooperative transformation and broader economic empowerment. Through a series of activities, namely KOPMEET (Cooperative Meeting), YCC (Youth Cooperation Competition), and YCS (Youth Cooperation Seminar). This event not only supports SDG 3: Healthy Lives and Prosperity by promoting a healthier environment through environmentally friendly cooperative practices, but also supports SDG 4: Quality Education by providing comprehensive education to participants about the importance of cooperative management and sustainable business, as well as development entrepreneurial skills among young people.
