The MSEI Research Series is a series of work programs from the scientific division of the Master of Science Student Association in Islamic Economics, Universitas Airlangga which focuses on scientific development in the field of research methods (qualitative and quantitative) and publication of articles in reputable journals. This work program is motivated by the needs of Master of Science in Islamic Economics students in preparing for graduation and in the context of developing scientific competencies to advance and propagate Islamic economics.
The MSEI Research Series consists of five activities with one qualitative method training activity, three quantitative method training activities, and one article publication training activity in reputable journals. In the first series/activity, the scientific division of the Master of Science Student Association in Islamic Economics raised the topic "The Urgency of Implementing the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) Method in Research". Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) is an important and popular quantitative method for analyzing the influence relationship between variables comprehensively through direct and indirect relationships which are characterized by the presence of moderating and moderating variables. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) consists of SEM AMOS and SEM PLS, both of which must be understood by Master of Science in Islamic Economics students in their use in independent research and during their thesis. Realizing the importance of understanding the SEM method and its implementation in Islamic Economics science, the scientific division of the Islamic Economics Masters Student Association is carrying out the MSEI Research Series activity program on this topic.
