YOUTEX or commonly known as Youth Excursion is an annual event in Asia organized by the International Global Network in Tokyo, Japan. The enthusiasm of participants who take part in the selection increases from year to year. YOUTEX has produced many alumni spread throughout Asia with the hope that this activity can increase knowledge and open new perspectives in looking at civilization in other countries. The theme of YOUTEX 2019 is in line with the aim of this activity, namely, "Enhance The Knowledge Of Japan's Advancement And Historical Value".
Previously Youtex had been implemented in various countries in Asia such as Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Turkey, Thailand and Japan. Before being declared a delegator, the prospective delegator must write a motivation letter and within a few days the announcement will be announced via e-mail for the 2019 Youtex delegator candidate. Rifki Fardian Damanhari and Adimas Yahya Kurniawan from the 2016 Bachelor of Management study program succeeded in becoming delegates at the 2019 Youtex event which was held in the city Tokyo, Japan.
The Youtex event itself lasted for four days from 20 – 23 November 2019 and was attended by 75 delegates from various countries in Asia. With the first series of events, namely the welcoming session as a welcome and motivation to fuel the enthusiasm of the delegators as well as group games to build relationships between delegators. Then the next day continued with a university visit at Tokyo University and Waseda University to introduce the university and inform them about what scholarships could be taken to study there. The day closed with a city challenge in the Shibuya and Shinjuku areas to explore Japanese culture. Furthermore, on the last day of activities, the delegators visited the largest waste management company in Japan, called the Inceranation Plant, where the delegators learned how to process waste from upstream to downstream and provide benefits to the Japanese population. Next, the company visited was the Panasonic Centre, one of the largest technology companies in Japan. Delegators learned about how inventions can be implemented in everyday life, and on the last day this activity closed with an international symposium and focus group discussion on how to increase technological knowledge. and cultural values in Japan.
From this Youtex event, delegates from the Faculty of Economics and Business universitas Airlangga gained a lot of experience, one of which was building a new perspective on cultural differences in Japan and Indonesia, as well as how technology is collaborated with culture so that it becomes a new culture that can answer various problems in a civilization. .
