II.
Description of the Economic Olympiad Theme "Revitalization and Sustainable Development in Manufacturing Sector: Balancing Economic Growth and Environmental Conservation"
This theme was chosen because the manufacturing sector plays an important role in economic growth in Indonesia.
However, environmental challenges such as pollution and land degradation are increasingly worrying. To achieve a balance between economic growth and environmental preservation, revitalization and sustainable development are key. Through investment in environmentally friendly technologies, efficient waste management, and partnerships between the government and the private sector, Indonesia can strengthen its manufacturing sector while protecting the diversity of its natural environment. With a holistic approach, Indonesia can achieve sustainable economic growth without sacrificing the environment. By choosing this theme, the 21st Economic Olympiad can provide a platform for participants to explore these important issues, seek creative solutions, and generate innovative ideas to support sustainable economic development in the future. Linkage to the Sustainable Development Goals
Indonesia is experiencing several signs of deindustrialization, especially in terms of the decline in the contribution of the manufacturing sector to GDP and changes in the composition of employment.
However, this does not mean that the manufacturing sector is no longer important. The government and private sector are trying to overcome these challenges to revive growth in the manufacturing sector. Revitalization and Sustainable Development in the Manufacturing Sector: Balancing Economic Growth and Environmental Conservation has a close relationship with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Achieving economic growth and sustainable development means recognizing the importance of reducing the ecological footprint by changing the way food and other resources are produced, consumed. Following are some of the ways in which revitalization and sustainable development in the manufacturing sector contributes to the SDGs: SDG 4: Quality Education
● Improve Skills and Knowledge:
1. Economic Olympiads encourage participants to deepen their understanding of economics, technology, and environmental issues, which is an important part of quality education.

SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
● Increased Productivity and Innovation: Revitalizing the manufacturing sector can increase productivity and innovation, creating better and more sustainable jobs.
● Good Working Conditions: With sustainable development, working standards can be improved, ensuring decent work and promoting inclusive economic growth.
