Personal Branding is the process of promoting oneself, career and achievements through an image that is built for the general public. If you have a strong personal brand, other people will have a positive perception or assessment of you. If you also have career guidance from someone who is more senior or experienced (career mentoring) to help you prepare yourself before entering the career world, then you will be better prepared to face the challenges that may occur in your career. Personal Branding and Career Mentoring can be the most important assets for achieving your goals and achieving success.
Personal Branding and Career Mentoring or commonly abbreviated as PBCM is a new work program from the PSDM division of Hima Ekis Unair. This year, or more precisely in the first year of its implementation, PSDM Hima Ekis Unair collaborated with external parties, namely Campuspedia, to make the event a success.
This work program was held with the aim of optimally improving the personal branding abilities of the participants so that they can form a positive image in front of other people as well as providing information, help and guide participants so they are ready to enter the world of careers. In line with this goal, in its first year PBCM carried the theme "Build Up Your Career, Reach The Bright Future".
PBCM was first held online via the Zoom Meeting application on June 5 2021, 09.30 – 13.10 WIB, attended by 81 general participants. This event began with an opening by the MC, reading of the holy Qur'an, speeches, delivery of advertisements from Campuspedia, then continued with the presentation of material and an interactive talk show by the speaker and moderator, namely Cholid Imami S.EI as Associate Merchant Risk Salah one of the most well-known e-commerce companies and Ynez Permata Kala from Campuspedia. The material presented includes the optimal creation and management of LinkedIn to be able to create a good personal branding there as well as everything that needs to be prepared before entering the career world. Before the event ended, we opened a question and answer session, handed over certificates to the presenters and moderators, and explained the challenges with prizes that all participants could take part in. The challenge is in the form of a Tik-tok video 'duetin' that has been made by the PBCM committee. The winner of the challenge is entitled to a prize in the form of electronic money amounting to IDR 50,000.
