Sharia Cooperative Application Idea to facilitate MSME financing after Covid-19. Unair Islamic Economics students won 1st place in the 2021 ECCO Competition
The ECCO competition is an essay competition organized by the Management Association of the PGRI Dewantara Jombang College of Economics. This competition is a regional level competition so the participants who register are limited to East Java only. They (Hafid and Arin) got information about this competition via Instagram.
They raised the theme "Digital Sharia Cooperatives (D'KOS): Applications for Sharia Cooperative Development in Empowering MSMEs Post-Covid-19". They chose this topic because they think the public's enthusiasm for sharia cooperatives is quite high, so they thought about creating a Sharia Cooperative application. "We thought about creating a Sharia Cooperative application that could make it easier for people to carry out their activities, especially helping finance MSMEs, especially after Covid-19," said Hafid.
During the essay writing process, they admitted that there were no significant obstacles, but there were problems when making video presentations. They explained that the announcement of the top 10 was not according to schedule where the announcement came out on the same day. On that day they also had to make a video presentation even though they had classes and quizzes scheduled. "At that time, Arin and I had two classes and there were quizzes so it was quite complicated, in the end we took classes, quizzed while making little videos until 11 at night," said Hafid. They stated that the video collection deadline is 11.30 p.m. They only finished editing the video at 11.00 and the saving or rendering process took a long time. They finally tried to ask for a little time to send the video. "In the end, because we spammed them, thank God our video was still accepted but the value was reduced." Hafid said. They just surrender and pray that the future will be better.
The next day was the most hectic day according to them because there were two schedules at the same time. Namely the ECCO Competition question and answer schedule and the Competency Test schedule.
"And the next day it was Saturday where we clashed with the first competency test, we met at 8 o'clock at that time and the question and answer session started at 8 o'clock, and that was the most complicated point in my opinion because we both fixed our lack of focus because we had to concentrate. Let's go to a quiz and also ask questions"
"Thank God, we got our turn quite late, which was around 11 o'clock and that too, if I'm not mistaken, the Akmenbis quiz hahaha, but while we were waiting, we kept thinking about that, you know, so there was a feeling of anxiety."
When it was their turn to ask questions, they said they could, thank God, answer the questions smoothly. But there was one thing that surprised them.
"Finally, when it was time for us to ask and answer questions from the jury, we were able to answer them fluently. In fact, what surprised me was that our idea was said to be brought or implemented directly in one of the Islamic boarding schools in Malang owned by one of the judges. That's what made me quite surprised at the same time. very grateful," said Hafid
After completing the question and answer session, they just had to wait for the announcement. Thank God they won 1st place in the 2021 ECCO competition.
