Nowadays, technological advances are increasingly rapid, causing human lifestyles to become increasingly connected to technology. This also gave birth to a new technological era, namely digital technology or what is often referred to as the era of disruption. Of course, this development will have an impact on all areas of life, one of which is accounting. For example, currently there is a lot of software that can carry out several accounting activities such as financial bookkeeping and others. With this development, various impacts will arise, both positive and negative. One of the negative impacts that can be caused is the reduced role of accountants in the field of accounting and there are even concerns that the role of accounting will be displaced by technology. Therefore, intellectual and professional abilities or skills are needed to face this era.
Therefore, the Student Association of the Faculty of Economics, Multimedia Nusantara University held the ATIC 5 (Accounting Ultimate Challenge) activity. ATIC 5 is a university-level accounting competition held to test the skills and abilities of accounting students and create healthy competition. The things tested include the conceptual and technical accounting abilities of the competition participants, as well as testing the participants' knowledge of various economic issues that have developed this year. The target of ATIC 5 activities is all student representatives from every university throughout Indonesia. It is hoped that this activity can produce resources that are ready to face problems in the accounting field in the future.
