On September 8 2019, 60 people gathered at MM Field to prepare for Jakarta. We went to Jakarta by bus with a travel time of approximately 10 hours.
On 9/10/2019 at 08.00 we arrived in Karawang and went straight to PT Wijaya Karya Beton Tbk. Wika Beton is a manufacturing subsidiary owned by BUMN, namely PT Wijaya Karya Tbk. Wika Beton has contributed greatly to the construction of toll roads throughout Indonesia. Our visit was welcomed by the Head of Accounting, Mr. Inu. We get an explanation of accounting in manufacturing companies. sAfter receiving an explanation about manufacturing accounting, we were invited to tour the PT Wijaya Karya Beton Tbk factory. and see directly the making of concrete which we have felt the benefits of when passing on toll roads.
On 10/10/2019 at 08.00 we prepared to go to the LinkAja office. As we know, currently in Indonesia the use of fintech is booming. However, many people don't know that our country also has fintech companies! LinkAja is a Fintech with a red plate which is the forerunner of the Unicorn company. Not only did we get general information about LinkAja, we also got a lot of knowledge about accounting in Fintech companies, where this company is experiencing quite rapid changes. We got this knowledge about accounting through LinkAja accounting staff. We were welcomed very warmly from the moment we arrived until the end of the visit, you know!
On Wednesday, September 10 2019, we continued our company visit at PricewaterhouseCoopers, which is a public accounting firm included in The Big Four. The event started with remarks by representatives from PwC and supervisors from UNAIR. The event continued with material about PwC and a sharing session with alumni, namely Akuntina and Joyce. Here participants get a lot of insight into the working environment at PwC, career paths at PwC, accounting services provided by PwC, and much more. We were also given time to ask questions during the question and answer session.
On the third day, the first company we visited was PT. Astra International Tbk. We were welcomed very well by the Communications department, namely Mr. Indra. We gained a lot of knowledge about the Astra company line which opened up many opportunities for us as Accounting graduates to become part of the big Astra family.
After finishing at Astra, we continued our visit to the KAP RSM office. During this visit we were shown the software used by the company in the auditing process. Very interesting and provides a new experience for the participants!
The first company we visited on the last day was the Directorate General of Taxes on Jalan Gatot Subroto which is quite close to the hotel. We were warmly welcomed by the staff. The event began with remarks from the Director General of Taxes and accompanying lecturers. The directorate general of taxes has an important role in regulating taxation in Indonesia. Djp contributes around 80% of state revenue. Here we can find out more about tax issues in Indonesia, what the system is for paying taxes and increase self-awareness about paying taxes, especially for millennials. Apart from that, it also explains the work environment and qualifications at DJP. At the end of the event, the DJP conducted a quiz on the material that had been explained and gave prizes to participants who could answer correctly. After visiting the office of the Director General of Taxes, we went to the last company, namely World Bank, which is located at IDX Tower Jalan Sudirman. World bank is The office atmosphere is quite comfortable. There we can find out what the world bank's vision and mission are in the world and especially in Indonesia. At the world bank we learn more about increasing social feelings towards others and explaining stunting regarding the problem of malnutrition in Indonesia and the role of the world bank in reducing stunting.
