(FEB NEWS) On Thursday, September 6 2023, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga successfully held a Workshop, Towards the Elimination of Extreme Poverty 2024, as a continuation of the Academic Forum event, Towards the Elimination of Extreme Poverty 2024.
Opened by Gigih Prihantono, SE, MSE. - Lecturer at the Department of Economics, FEB UNAIR, and acting as speaker: 1. Andie Megantara, Ph.D. - Secretary to the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia; 2. Mr. Elan Satriawan - Head of Policy Group TNP2K; 3. Kukuh Tri Sandi, S.Pi., MT., M.Sc. - Head of Government & Human Development Division, East Java Bappeda.
The workshop was attended by: lecturers from FEB UNAIR and also from other faculties such as from the Faculty of Language Sciences (FIB) UNAIR, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UNAIR, and also students.
Some important points that we agreed upon for follow-up are:
1. The importance of involving scientific experts who care about the Elimination of Extreme Poverty (PKE).
2. Strengthen collaboration between the center and regions in building scientific discourse and discussions related to PKE.
3. Organizing in-depth scientific briefings and discussions regarding PKE policies which are still sensitive.
4. The government needs evidence as a basis for policy making, which is provided by TNP2K.
5. Policy options are decided by the policy team after stock taking and further study.
6. Collaboration with various parties, including internationally, to overcome poverty.
7. Encouragement for academics to carry out regular publications/research.
8. Access data via TNP2K at 0 rates for collaborative research purposes.
