To prepare Vocational High School graduates to be ready to work and open up employment opportunities after graduating from school, Master of Management students in the E2M class, Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga , Surabaya, held an entrepreneurship workshop at SMK Negeri 1 Surabaya.
Not only does it provide material to prepare someone to become an entrepreneur, this activity is also to equip students on how to find business solutions and solutions to every business problem. "This activity is an implementation of student activities, so that students can make decisions when they return to their organizations, so that they can benefit not only their company, but can also benefit their environment. "Like now, these students are sharing their knowledge with their younger siblings," explained Dr Tri Siwi Agustina as supervisor. "Vocational school students were chosen for this activity, because vocational school students are graduates who are ready to work, of course they must be given the spirit of entrepreneurship, so that when they enter the world of work, these students have creativity and innovation in carrying out work, with all the risks. ," he added.
Meanwhile, according to the Chair of the Committee, the entrepreneur workshop with the theme "creating shared value" aims to help students develop knowledge about entrepreneurship. "One of our commitments is to build an entrepreneurial spirit in these young people, so that they are ready to face the world after they graduate from school," explained Muhammad Ridwan, who is the Chair of the Committee for this activity.
This activity is not only packaged in the form of a seminar. Several discussion forums divide each group of students, assisted by supervisors from master of management students as mentors, to solve problems faced in the world of entrepreneurship. "So the activities are not just seminars, so there is knowledge provision, and we try to hold discussion group forums, as a form of practical implementation of the knowledge that has been previously obtained," he added. The majority of students are young entrepreneurs, making this activity not only about providing theoretical material, but these students also share their experiences while in the business world, starting from starting a business, solving problems faced while running a business, to product packaging and marketing to students. "The material we provide is not only theoretical, moreover, most of us students are also entrepreneurs, so we transfer our experiences while working in the business world, including facing challenges and solutions," he added. Meanwhile, this activity received extraordinary appreciation from the students, and the students were also quite interested in the experiences conveyed by their older siblings, so that the students were encouraged to become entrepreneurs in the future. "As a student with this activity, I am very happy to be able to learn and play with these older students," explained Divya Sifa, a student at SMKN 1 Surabaya, one of the workshop participants. This activity also inspired the students, especially seeing the success of the management master's students, who were considered successful in terms of education, but also successful in developing their entrepreneurial talents. "Of course we are very inspired, and our mindset has changed, from graduating wanting to go straight to work, with this activity, we are thinking about opening our own business, so we can help other people, and can help the government to open up jobs in the future," he concluded .
