April is not only about the Indonesian people's five-yearly democratic celebration, but also an opportunity for Universitas Airlangga to prove its spirit of excellence with morality. On 13-16 April 2019, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga hosted the National Scientific Meeting, which is the biggest annual agenda for Islamic economics fighters under the auspices of FoSSEI. This grand agenda was attended by around 500 students from more than 60 universities throughout Indonesia who met in one forum to build brotherhood and develop bright ideas for developing the country. Taking the big theme "Development of the Halal Industry in Indonesia through Optimizing ZISWAF and Sociopreneur".
The event opened symbolically with the beating of the gong by Prof. Dr. Raditya Sukmana, SE., MA. as Head of the Sharia Economics Department. In his speech he said that in Indonesia the development of Islamic economics starts directly from the people, he called it bottom up, one of which is the role of the youth, students who are very militant. In the Opening Ceremony which was held in the Fadjar Notonagoro Hall, FEB UNAIR, the Declaration of Indonesian Halal Activists was also carried out, led by the FoSSEI National Presidium and attended by all FoSSEI cadres who were present to always be a pioneer in consuming halal products for the surrounding environment.
After the Opening Ceremony was completed, it was continued with discussion of the blue print which contained the strategic plan for the FoSSEI movement in the struggle to ground Islamic Economics. At the same time, a Pitching Competition and an Islamic Economics Olympiad were also held at the Haji Sukolilo Surabaya Dormitory.
The event will continue in the next few days with the main agenda being a National Discussion which will be attended by representatives from 14 FoSSEI regions as well as symposium participants who have previously written scientific papers containing ideas resulting from discussions in each region and group. The results of the National Discussion will be presented to relevant stakeholders after the International Seminar on April 15 2019.
An international seminar with the theme "Development of Halal Industry through ZISWAQ and Sociopreneur Optimization" will be held in the Fadjar Notonagoro Hall FEB UNAIR. By inviting several competent speakers, it is hoped that students and the public can be educated in more depth about the development of the halal industry and social entrepreneurship. God willing, this international seminar will be attended by the Governor of East Java, Mrs Khofifah Indar Parawansa who will deliver the keynote speech.
Apart from the main agendas above, there are several other agendas including inspirational talk shows and workshops with FoSSEI alumni.
Hopefully the implementation of TEMILNAS over the next 3 days can run smoothly and meaningfully, and be able to strengthen us all in preaching the grounding of Islamic Economics in the archipelago.(mub)
