Road to Ejavec 2025(Feb News) Friday, February 21, 2025 - Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB Unair), in collaboration with Bank Indonesia (BI) East Java Representative Office and Indonesian Economic Bachelor Association (ISEI) Surabaya Branch - East Java Coordinator, successfully held Road to East Java Economic (Ejavec) Forum 2025. Located in the Soepoyo Feb Unair Hall, this event presents economists, academics, and finalists Ejavec 2024 to discuss the strategy of increasing productivity and regional economic innovation in facing global challenges. Present representing Bank Indonesia, Mr. Petrus Endria Effendhi, Senior Economist of Bank Indonesia - East Java Province.

The event opened with Welcoming Remarks from Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., M.Si., Ak, CMA., Ca., Dean of FEB Unair, which emphasized the importance of this scientific forum as a forum for academics, practitioners, and students in formulating innovative solutions for the East Java economy. "Active participation from various groups will be the key in producing innovations and policies that have a real impact," said Prof. Dian.

In line with this, Prof. Dr. Soni Harsono, M.Si., Chairperson of the Surabaya Branch ISEI-East Java Coordinator, highlighted that Ejavec has been a strategic forum since 2014 in examining economic issues in East Java. He also revealed that Call for Paper Ejavec 2025 will carry various important topics, including capital -intensive industries, labor quality, domestic and international trade, and price stability and food security.

Strategic Discussion: Challenges and Economic Opportunities of East Java

The discussion session was guided by Prof. Dr. Sautma Ronni Basana, B.Se., Me., Chair of I ISEI Surabaya, who presented three main speakers with interesting and relevant topics.

Prof. Dr. Telisa Aulia Falianty, SE., Me., Professor of FEB UI, in her presentation highlighted the importance of innovation and productivity in facing global challenges. He stressed that East Java has a great opportunity in the technology sector, electric vehicle industry, and renewable energy. However, the main challenges remain, such as the stagnation of labor productivity and the uncertainty of the global economy.

Meanwhile, Dr. Miguel Angel Esquivias Padilla, M.Se., Lecturer in Economics, FEB Unair, discussed the dynamics of East Java trade in the global economic landscape. He highlighted export and import trends that still show imbalances and the need for market diversification to increase regional export competitiveness.

As part of an effort to encourage academic participation in Ejavec 2025, this session also presented Ms. Nuryantiningsih Pusporini along with the team, Ejavec 2024 Finalist, who shared their experiences in research related to the efficiency of sugarcane industry transportation in East Java. They emphasized the importance of research based on concrete solutions and encourage more academics and students to contribute to regional economic development.

Road to Ejavec 2025: more than just a seminar

This event was not just an academic seminar, but also an important momentum for prospective participants Call for Paper Ejavec 2025. By presenting economists and previous finalists, participants gained in-depth insight into strategic issues and tips in producing research that had an impact.
