(FEB NEWS) As Host, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) together with the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNAIR successfully held the 2023 Bank Indonesia Teaching Event, with Perry Warjiyo- Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) with the theme "Strengthening National Economic Resilience and Revival Towards Advanced Indonesia" in collaboration between Bank Indonesia and ISEI Surabaya Branch, for hundreds of students not only from UNAIR but also from 17 other universities throughout East Java.
The BI Mengajar 2023 event, held as a series of commemorations of the 62nd DIES NATALIS FEB UNAIR, the 70th Anniversary of Bank Indonesia, and the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, is aimed at increasing economic literacy and public central banking, especially those related to duties. Bank Indonesia in maintaining stability and supporting economic growth.
Apart from giving a Public Lecture, Perry Warjiyo, who is also the General Chair of ISEI (Indonesian Economic Scholars Association), also inaugurated the ISEI Surabaya Branch Management, East Java Coordinator for the 2023-2026 Period from the Garuda Mukti Hall, MERR-C Campus Management Office Building, Universitas Airlangga .
Before giving a Public Lecture, Perry Warjiyo, conveyed his congratulations to Dr. Drs. Soni Harsono, MSi., as Chair of ISEI Surabaya Branch, East Java Coordinator for the 2023-2026 Period, also gave 3 messages:
First message: Develop the economy of East Java.
"How to advance it, in 3 ways," said Perry Warjiyo, starting to give his suggestions/tips for advancing the East Java economy: 1. downstream agriculture, fisheries, plantations and other aspects. For agriculture, Perry Warjiyo gave an example of how to increase exports of non-raw East Java spices. “We have a lot of spices (10% of the world's spices are exported from East Java), such as ginger, but they have not been processed by UNAIR, and the task of the East Java Provincial Government is to develop its offtakers; 2. digitalization, where 67-70% of Indonesia's population are millennials, for marketing, packaging and so on; 3. The focus in East Java is Community Economy. "Let's help East Java Province, the people of East Java so that the economy advances, there are lots of job opportunities, and prosperity increases."
Second message: Age can be old but the spirit of ABG must be developed (ISEI as a forum for ABG, unity/synergy between Academics, Business and Government). Unite to develop the East Java economy
Third message: Make the Bengkulu Congress a success.
On the occasion of the lecture, Perry Warjiyo, conveyed the importance of innovation and creativity in supporting the economic recovery process by optimizing policy mix innovation to maintain macroeconomic and financial system stability in order to strengthen economic resilience and revival. national.
Perry Warjiyo also conveyed tips for achieving goals to BI Mengajar participating students to be persistent in learning, broadening their horizons and experiences according to their desired field, as well as how close we are to the Creator, because success can be achieved with permission from God Almighty.
Perry Warjiyo emphasized that to achieve high, sustainable and inclusive growth, there needs to be support apart from innovation and creativity, close coordination between central bank policy, fiscal policy and structural reform as a form of synergy in the national policy mix for Advanced Indonesia.
Appreciation was given by the Deputy Governor of East Java - Dr. Emil Elistiano Dardak, that in 2022, as Governor of BI - Perry Warjiyo succeeded in facing pressure and maintaining that the Indonesian economy could grow well in 2022, and East Java also made a contribution at that time.
Meanwhile, for the ISEI Surabaya Branch Management, East Java Coordinator, who was just appointed, Emil Elestianto Dardak expressed his hope, "Hopefully ISEI will be given success.
