student forum feb unair 2023 1On May 21-27, 2023, a Student Forum at Airlangga (SFA) was held which brought 19 students and 3 lecturers from Can Tho University Vietnam. SFA is one of the implementations of the Student Inbound work program organized by the Department of Economics FEB UNAIR.

The SFA in this period is the second time from SFA batch 1 which was held in the previous year with the theme "Empowering Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in the Digital Era". This activity aims to introduce MSME activities in Indonesia that are in line with the subject matter studied by the participants who are students of the International Business School.

student forum feb unair 2During this program, participants received several lecture sessions with the following themes: Indonesia's SDGs Progress and Airlangga University's Role; Challenges and Opportunities for SMEs in the Post-Pandemic Era; Unlocking Potential: Empowering Economic Growth in African and Asian Countries; China's Financial Development and Economic Growth: Exploring the Contradictions.         

In addition, participants also had the opportunity to visit several Micro, Small Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Surabaya and surrounding areas, such as Batik Jokotole Bangkalan, Kampung Kue Rungkut Surabaya, and Keripik Tempe Rohani Home Industry in Malang. 

Through various classical and practical activities, the inbound student participants are expected to be able to understand how MSMEs in Indonesia run their businesses more comprehensively.

student forum feb unair 2023 2On this occasion, participants were also introduced to Indonesian culture by visiting historical places such as the Heroes Monument and the Ten November Museum as well as taking Saman dance classes to promote culture and tourism in Indonesia, especially East Java.

On May 26, the Student Forum at Airlangga Batch 2 event was officially closed, accompanied by special performances from each delegation of the committee (Indonesia) and participants (Vietnam). Then, closed with speeches from Mr. Rossanto, Mrs. Martha, and Prof. Vo. As well as, a symbolic sign of gratitude from Universitas Airlangga , in the form of Batik Scarf and Blangkon.
