feb unair 1st place(FEB NEWS) 3 FEB UNAIR Management Students, namely Tegar Bayu Laksmana, Brian Errando Limanjaya, and Michelle Sebastiani Chang, succeeded in winning 1st place in the Business Case Competition held by the Faculty of Earth Science and Technology, Bandung Institute of Technology.

The event has the theme "Geohazard & Sustainability". The Business Case Competition was attended by top universities in Indonesia, such as UI, ITB, UGM, and Telkom University. However, this did not deter the three close friends. In this event, Tegar and his colleagues raised the issue of accelerating the energy transition through carbon trading.
They said that Indonesia has extraordinary renewable energy potential. However, unfortunately access to capital to develop renewable energy is still very small. Therefore, they came up with the idea of a carbon marketplace based on blockchain technology to increase capital inclusivity. To the FEB NEWS team, Tegar also added that through this marketplace companies do not need to be afraid of duplicate carbon certificates because this mechanism has been solved through the adoption of NFT (Non-Fungible Token) technology.

Through this technology, each certificate has a unique identity so that it cannot be claimed by other companies. "Our team is trying to explore the benefits of blockchain technology so that it can be used as a recommendation for innovation for carbon trading problems in Indonesia.
And, finally we succeeded in finding carbon certification innovation through the adoption of NFT technology which guarantees it has security value." After going through the proposal assessment round, the team, which named itself Wismilak, advanced to the final round.

In this final round, they had to present their recommended ideas in front of two judges, namely, Prof. Dr. Aswan, ST, MT (Professor in the Field of Paleontology and Quaternary Geology) and Clint Gunawijaya (Entrepreneur, graduate of the ITB School of Business & Management). The winner was announced on the same day.
At the time of the announcement, Tegar and his team succeeded in winning 1st place, beating ITB participants in 2nd place and UGM in 3rd place. "We hope that this achievement can lead us to make achievements in other prestigious events and keep us humble to continue learning," said Strong at the end of the interview with the FEB NEWS team.
