As an international event, this event is attended by not only experienced participants; from 15 countries in the world but also present were global innovators, entrepreneurs, academics, researchers and scientists. This collaboration was created to provide new partners and experiences for the participants. Not only experience, through this event we can also get an idea of the future for each innovation displayed.
Apart from that, MTE 2023 was attended by several related parties, both to increase new relationships and opportunities in the fields of innovation, knowledge and research. Malaysian officials who attended the event included: from the Malaysian Science and Technology Information Center, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation Malaysia, National STEM Association, Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Education Malaysia, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.

The title presented by the FEB UNAIR accounting students was DearEYE as Automated Detector of Retinal Fundus Images using Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Smartphone Fundoscope for Glaucoma and Diabetic Retinopathy Screening. Even though it is an accounting student from FEB UNAIR, it does not rule out the possibility of continuing to innovate in the health sector. This is of course supported by the high level of collaboration with other faculties, the faculties that worked together in preparing this idea were the medical faculty from the midwifery department and the science and technology faculty from the biomedical engineering department. Deareyes is a technological tool created out of our concern regarding the very high rate of blindness in Asia, reaching 20 million people. This high figure is supported by the high cost of treatment related to vision and blindness which costs an average of $16,838/person in 1 year.
Abdul Rohman as FEB UNAIR student representative explained that “The research process carried out is very long and requires research. Our role in this research is very important in analyzing product sustainability. Another thing that encouraged us to be involved in this innovation is the public's need for access to eye health examinations."
"Apart from that, we also need lots of surveys regarding public concern and interest regarding the urgency of using this product. For this reason, we need to invite partners from doctors and health workers to get involved to see the potential for development and use in the world of health. "Considering that our product is a product that is directly involved with humans/society, so the involvement of doctors and health workers is very important, in order to gain public trust." Additional Abdul Rahman.
"We also feel very happy to be able to bring this innovation to the international arena so that we can provide the best performance. Not only that, the opponents faced in an event of this magnitude are not focused on one or two countries but up to dozens of countries. "Seeing this, we are not afraid to continue to try our best and produce major achievements for UNAIR and specifically for the Faculty of Economics and Business UNAIR," said Arfian.
“The two awards we brought were extraordinary things, because they were able to make and make UNAIR's name proud on the international stage. We don't forget to give thanks to UNAIR, FEB UNAIR, and our FEB UNAIR Accounting Department, who have supported us extraordinarily, so that we can get 2 awards at once, because not all teams are able to experience the Gold Award and Special Award. .”
