lifting the energy of February Unair SurabayaIn the Metallurgy Festival held by the Bandung Institute of Technology Metallurgy Study Program with the theme Development of Energy and Mineral Utilization to Achieve Sustainable National Resilience, 3 FEB UNAIR students, namely Tegar Bayu Laksmana (2021 Management), Hilmi Dzaki (2021 Islamic Economics), and Al Hafizh Syahddad (Islamic Economics 2021) succeeded in winning 3rd Place in Poster, (11/3/2023).

Although attended by the majority of engineering students from well-known universities, such as UI, ITB and ITS. These 3 colleagues who named their team "Lucky Laki" were not afraid and instead introduced a unique energy transition concept, namely the Energy Transition Mechanism Country Platform. This concept offers a global fiscal space solution for clean energy developers. Apart from that, through this Country Platform, it is hoped that Indonesia will be able to reduce carbon emissions by accelerating the closure of coal-fired power plants.

Tegar said that their strongest motive for participating in this competition was that they wanted to provide information & paradigm about the importance of capital for energy transition developers by looking at macroeconomic conditions and the potential resources that Indonesia has. According to him, the stalling of technology research and innovation in Indonesia occurs because of the lack of capital that can be used. Therefore, through the Energy Transition Mechanism Country Platform it is hoped that it will provide solutions to accelerate clean energy through capital partnerships from abroad.

feb unair energy accelerationIn this competition, Tegar and his team managed to beat hundreds of participants to advance to the final round. The final round was held at the end of February, namely the 25th. They had to compete with 10 finalists, the majority of whom came from ITB and ITS engineering students. According to him, this is not easy because their opponents definitely understand the technical concepts regarding the energy transition. However, thanks to their good performance, the jury awarded them 3rd place on the final night of the awards on March 11 2023.

Tegar and the team hope that through these competitions related to sustainability, they will be able to provide an overview of environmentally friendly business concepts in the future. And, this can be in line with the vision and mission Universitas Airlangga which prioritizes Sustainability Development Goals. "We hope that as FEB UNAIR graduates, we are not only good at creating high-profit businesses but also able to create long-term and environmentally friendly businesses," said Tegar at the end of the interview.
