(FEB NEWS) Thursday, March 9 2023, Jawa Pos together with the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) and Bank Indonesia, in this case the Department of Management FEB UNAIR and the Department of Sharia Economics FEB UNAIR, held the "Jawa Pos Halal Literacy Festival 2023 ”, which is supported by other partners such as BRI Insurance Syariah, BPJPH (Halal Product Guarantee Organizing Agency), Halal Center UNAIR and East Java Regional Mass Organizations such as Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Muhammadiyah and the Sharia Economic Community.
The event, which was held for MSMEs, lecturers and also students across faculties at Universitas Airlangga , had the aim of being a means of accelerating education and literacy regarding the halal lifestyle ecosystem among the public, especially students and MSME business actors. It is hoped that in the future participants can become ambassadors for disseminating information about sharia economic ecosystem.
The event was held in 2 sessions, where the first session was a Sharing Session with the theme: Halal Ecosystem Literacy Education, and the second session was a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) session.
Leak Kustiyo - Main Director of PT Jawa Pos Koran in his opening remarks, and also Dr. Wisnu Wibowo, SE., M.Si. – Deputy Dean I FEB UNAIR, really appreciates and welcomes the programs in the form of synergy, joint collaboration to increase sharia economic literacy, as well as accelerate halal certification in Indonesia organized by Bank Indonesia, and expressed his hopes, willing to be invited back to collaborate together with Bank Indonesia and other related parties, such as BRI Insurance Syariah, in order to continue to play an active role in increasing its benefits for the wider community.
Emil Elistiano Dardak – Deputy Governor of East Java, also expressed his appreciation for the participation of UNAIR, especially FEB UNAIR, BI and Jawa Pos. in organizing the East Java Halal Literacy Festival. Where the Governor and all his elements have committed to accelerating the development of the sharia economy, and in developing the sharia economy, it needs to be based on literacy. This festival event has the opportunity to create a breakthrough, encouragement that has a sustainable impact, in spreading literacy regarding sharia economics. And from the results of this event, the Province is ready to follow up on recommendations, suggestions or initiatives that emerged from the "Jawa Pos Halal Literacy Festival 2023" event. Also present to give opening remarks: Arif Hartawan - Head of Sharia Economics and Finance Department of Bank Indonesia and Sony Harsono Operational Director of PT. BRI Insurance Indonesia.
Present as speakers at the sharing session: 1. M. Irfan Sukarna - Deputy Director of the Sharia Economics and Finance Department of Bank Indonesia, presenting material on the Bank Indonesia Sharia Economic Literacy Blue Print; 2. H. Nurhanudin, ST, M.Kom - Head of the Information Systems Team for the Halal Product Guarantee Organizing Agency, with material on Halal Certification Literacy and Halal Certification Agents; 3. Eka Indria Sari - EVP Sharia Business PT. BRI Asuransi Indonesia, presents material on the Financial Industry & Sharia-Based Protection Products as a Lifestyle); and 4. Dr. Tri Siwi Agustina - Chair of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Industrial Relations FEB Universitas Airlangga , presented material on National Halal Economic & Entrepreneurship Potential, where Sulistya Rusgianto, PhD - Secretary of the Sharia Economics Department FEB UNAIR, acted as moderator.
Hopefully, the "Jawa Pos Halal Literacy Festival 2023" event can become a sustainable synergy and ultimately through literacy in sharia economics and accelerated halal certification, it can have a real impact on the prosperity and welfare of the Indonesian people.
