Jakarta - Universitas Airlangga (Unair) has introduced a development economics study program (prodi) at the Faculty of Economics and Business. This study program has many advantages, one of which is that graduates can easily find work.
According to the Head of the Department of Economics UNAIR, Rossanto Dwi Handoyo SE MSi PhD, the study program curriculum is workforce oriented. As a result, graduates of this study program are better prepared to pursue a professional career.
"If our graduates can work anywhere, it is because our curriculum has been applied. The knowledge we give to students can be used in the job market," he said on UNAIR's official website, quoted Monday (28/3/2022).
UNAIR development economics study program graduates have spread across government, private institutions and non-governmental organizations at home and abroad. For example, Bank Indonesia (BI), Ministry of Finance, and world banks.
Some alumni also have careers as academics and industrial practitioners. Currently, Unair's development economics study program is ranked in the 600th best in the world according to the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings (WUR) by Subject.
The FEB Unair development economics study program was founded in 1961. In this study program, students' abilities in studying theory and analytical tools to study various social and economic problems continue to be honed. Graduates are expected to be able to provide real solutions in development.
One of the alumni of the FEB Unair development economics study program, Muhammad Daffa, stated that he really enjoyed the learning process while studying. This is due to the interesting material and quality of lecturer competence.
"In terms of teaching capabilities, there is no doubt about the lecturers. They are all really good, with very varied personalities and teaching methods," said this BI practitioner.
Daffa, who completed a high school education majoring in science, initially did not understand the learning in the development economics study program. However, over time, with the support of quality facilities and lecturers, Daffa was able to understand and complete her studies well.
